SEVERE WEATHER and SIREN INFORMATION
THE SIREN WILL NO LONGER ACTIVATE FOR FIRE CALLS. Unless, as described below, IF YOU HEAR THE SIREN SOUNDING YOU SHOULD SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY.
The Civil Defense/Severe Weather siren is tested monthly on the first Saturday of the month at 1PM. You will hear a fast up and down warble tone (different sounding than when the department is normally dispatched) preceded by a long steady blast. The warble tone indicates a civil defense emergency and the long steady blast indicates a tornado warning! In the event of an actual tornado warning the siren will blast in three minute cycles until the warning has concluded.
